MARCELLA

Marcella was my Aunt. She married my dad's brother, Jake.  Her and my mom were good friends and became inlaws but always felt like sisters.

She was kind, had the best Norwegian accent.  I can hear her voice and her laugh.  She had a great laugh!  And she did that a lot.   She loved her two sons so much!  And she sure loved her husband.

She lived in Rapid City, South Dakota, and we always stopped at her home and stayed with my aunt and uncle as we went on to Sisseton and Peever.  We would visit and play cards with my aunt while my uncle and dad would watch the weather channel.  I remember she had a beautiful dog named Lady.  It was a great place to go because we could visit all the landmarks around their home. Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Dances with Wolves set, Breakfast place on tin plates and dirt floors, putt putt golf, Black Hills, and up to Deadwood.   But it was really great because we got to spend time with our Aunt and Uncle.  They would come to Washington to visit us every couple years too. One year they brought my Grandpa Sigvart Langager.  That was a treat.

I will always remember my Aunt Marcy fondly and with love. I miss her.
